AMLI Old Pasadena is a newer apartment community at 75 West Holly Street, a block north of Colorado Boulevard in historic Old Pasadena. It is owned and operated by AMLI Residential, and HED was among the design firms. According to listing data, the community has about 394 apartments and was completed in 2021, though we could not confirm those figures from an official source.

This is a mid-rise community rather than a tower, but it earns its place in this series with high-end interiors, a palm-lined pool and three-bedroom homes that rent for close to $8,000 a month.

How it compares with other LA luxury rentals

We reviewed advertised rents at 25 of the priciest rental communities in Los Angeles County on October 28, 2026. Ranked by the highest monthly asking rent, AMLI Old Pasadena came in at number 25. For context, here is what several other high-end buildings were asking on the same day (same source):

Keep in mind that the top of each range is usually driven by one or two penthouse or oversized units, so the starting rent and the mix of unit sizes often say more about a building than its single most expensive listing. Linked names go to our full profile of that building.

Touring tips

  • Ask which specific units are available and on which floors; view and floor height can move the rent by thousands of dollars in the same floor plan.
  • Request the full monthly cost in writing, including parking, pet rent, storage, utilities and any amenity or service fees.
  • Ask whether advertised specials are applied as free weeks up front or spread across the lease, and how that affects renewal pricing.
  • Visit at rush hour and in the evening to judge traffic, noise and how easy it is to get in and out of the garage.
  • Read the lease terms for minimum length, early termination and renewal caps before you put down a deposit.

Who it suits

AMLI Old Pasadena suits professionals who work in Pasadena or commute downtown by rail, Caltech and JPL staff, and renters who want walkable restaurants and shops with resort-style amenities at a lower price than the Westside.

Can you afford it?

A common rule of thumb is to keep rent near 30% of gross income, which means a $3,220 apartment calls for roughly $129,000 a year in household income, and the top-end unit far more. Many luxury buildings also ask for income of two and a half to three times the rent.
